Francis X. Smith , CPA
Francis X. Smith has been a certified public accountant since 1964 and is
the senior partner at SMITH & COMPANY, CPA's, Bardstown, Kentucky.
Mr. Smith has been in the practice of public accounting since 1968.
Prior to that, Mr. Smith was a field auditor with the Internal Revenue
Service (IRS) in the Louisville,
Kentucky District from 1962 to
1968. Mr. Smith earned a B.A. in Accounting from Bellarmine College,
Louisville, Kentucky
in 1962 and an Associate in Arts from St. Catherine Junior College,
Springfield, Kentucky in 1960. Mr. Smith passed all
parts of the CPA Examination on his initial attempt.
From 1990 thru 1995, Mr. Smith was a member of the Finance Committee of
the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth Health Corporation and is Chairman of the
Board and an officer for each of the various family
owned for profit businesses. He has been an officer of the Bardstown, Nelson
County, Kentucky, Chamber of Commerce. He is a
Director on the Board of Town and Country Bank & Trust Company.
His current professional memberships include American Institute of
Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the
Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Mr. Smith is married to Lucy G. Strange. They have four children: Francis
X Smith II, Stephanie Smith Seeger, Janice Smith Ritchie, Gregory
Eric Smith.
